You Are His Treasured Pearl

In Matthew, Jesus describes a merchant looking for fine pearls who, when finding one, sells everything he has to purchase it. It's tempting to think that you and I are the merchant in this story, with the priceless gift of God's pardon in our possession. The problem with that, though, is that you and I didn’t purchase it. Jesus did.  No, you and I aren’t the merchant in this story.  But hold onto your hat as you hear what you are!
